ABOUT SOUTHAVEN RV & MARINE//

Southaven RV and Marine was founded in 1994.
In 1998, Mark and Carlene Hixson purchased the dealership that was located on Hwy 51 in Horn Lake.

The business has steadily grown under the Hixson's ownership to become the largest RV and marine company in the USA!

Why is the business was named Southaven RV? In 2005, we opened up the new location at 5485 PepperChase Dr and now we are where we belong - in Southaven, MS. 

After operating 3 different locations at once, in 2009 we consolidated our facilities into one. This was due to the economic conditions our country was in at the time. We also felt the burden of having to face some very difficult decisions. Unfortunately, we had to layoff some of our employees and tighten up on our expenses. I think we have all learned some very important lessons on running our business and our family finances.

With God on our side, we have been blessed beyond measure. We were able to move all of the inventory from some of our manufacturers that had filed bankruptcy and were able to survive. Today, we have been able to reach new levels of success! This is all due to Customers like yourselves. 

Any dealership is only as good as its reputation. Customer referrals and word of mouth can do as much to help a business grow as the most effective advertising campaign. In this respect, Southaven RV & Marine is in great shape.

There is no more prouder moment than to see a customer bring another customer in and brag about how well they've been treated by Southaven RV & Marine.

We see moms and dads bringing a son or daughter in, and in some cases a grandson or granddaughter. As an owner, that's the way you want your business to run.

A leading force behind RV ownership's upswing is the enormous baby boomer generation, supported by strong ownership gains among both younger and older buyers. In fact, high RV ownership rates now extend across a 40-year span from age 35-to-75. It's clear that the siren call of the open road and the sense of adventure that comes with it has broad appeal. To keep up with the growing demand the dealership has made a major effort to change with the changing times.

One of the main things we learned is that Southaven RV & Marine cannot run business today like we did ten years ago, five years ago, or even last year. Southaven RV & Marine has to be more fluid in how we act and react. That entails bringing electronics into the business more and more, being willing to accept the cultural change of the Internet, and providing tools for our employees to be able to do their jobs better.

Our RV sales team is here for you 6 days a week:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 6:00 pm
Saturday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. 
Our Fall and Winter hours will change to:
Monday through Friday 8:30-5:30
Saturday 8:30 am -5:00 pm.

These are our posted hours, we will be more than happy to accommodate your schedule as needed.

On November 26, 2012 while packing up our 2008 Winnebago Aspect, hoping for an early start home, I heard a clicking noise between the thermostat and furnace. I called you to see if your service department could check it out before we left Southaven, MS for home in Alabama. I chose Southaven RV Center because of your location and having bought our RV from you last May 2011. I remember when we picked up our used RV that you informed us your service department had put on six new tires on our RV with only 2,000 miles on it without being charged for them. They saw them as unsafe to drive on due to cracking from sun light exposure. This created a lasting trust between the service department and me, because of their good judgment.

My trust and respect for the service department’s high ethical standards was once again reinforced after observing W. Smith's work ethics. After only working on the electrical connection between the thermostat and furnace for half hour, he contacted Winnebago's tech. department to seek their current guidance and advice. His comment to me was that he did not want to waste any more of my time getting at the source of the heating problem. Remembering that your hourly shop rates are $???, I really thought that showed concern for his customer.

After five long waiting hours, W. Smith along with the Winnebago’s technician discovered a damaged wire going to the furnace from the thermostat. Our problem was resolved! I believe because of W. Smith’s strong personal commitment and his spirit of determination.

I would ask that this letter of appreciation being formally posted ... because of going beyond what is expected and his strong personal commitment.

We have recently traded for our 2006 Dynasty which we are really enjoying thanks to all of you at Southaven RV.

Our pleasant experience started with a phone call for contact with a salesman. We were connected to Sean Medley. When we arrived he greeted us promptly and showed us around. He continued to take good care of us until we closed the transaction and then he helped to address all of our problems. We have had 2 other Monaco RVs and no other salesman that we dealt with was nearly as well informed and knowledgeable of his product. We are thankful for his help. Michael Mask not only helped us to trade RVs but came to the RV park at 5:00 PM on Saturday to attempt to the the TV to function. We had to finally tell him to go home; we would get it fixed Monday. Every time we would park at the entrance sales reps would meet us prior to getting to the door and greet us.

Our next experience was with the service department. Manny and Tommy were great. They gave us a great "walk thru" plus several lessons on the TV and sound system. They are a real plus to your service department.
