Aug. 8 2021 RV's By Sophia James

To make the most of your motorhome vacation, it is important not to forget anything! Here is a small list of things to check before hitting the road in a motorhome.

List of checks to do before setting off in a motorhome:

Whether you are a novice motorhome driver, a little dizzy or just in a hurry to get back on the road (!), There are still a few things to pay attention to before restarting ... As some of you call it, here is the list “checks”, that is to say, small manipulations to be done before getting back on the road, even if some will seem obvious to you. It is not long and allows you to avoid unpleasant surprises!

Checks outside the motorhome:

•    Close the gas cylinder valve (for older models: those not equipped with the SecuMotion system)

•    Unplug the electric wire and do not forget the AC adapter if you are using one.

•    Make sure that the opening (or hatches) on the motorhome are closed and locked: water filler cap, electrical outlet cover, WC cassette door, wastewater drain valve, etc.

•    Recover the chocks

•    Close the hold and lock it

•    Fold the dish (if not automatic)

•    Retract the step (if manual)

•    Repack the clothesline (!)

Interior checks:

•    Close windows and skylights

•    Make sure that the cupboard and drawer doors are properly closed (and locked if necessary, depending on the motorhome models)

•    Tidy up anything that might fall on the way, make sure everything is properly secured

•    Close the gas inlets inside (fridge, heating and hotplates) depending on the motorhome models (those not equipped with the SecuMotion system)

•    Place the fridge on 12V (if not automatic)

•    Switch off the water pump at the control panel
